Creating a Legacy of Support for the Apostolates and Ministries of the Diocese of Colorado Springs
The Catholic Foundation raises and invests funds to grow its investment portfolio and thereby support its beneficiaries. You can make a gift to the Endowment or the Annual Fund to help contribute to the ministries of the Foundation.
An endowed gift is a perpetual investment into the future of a designated apostolate or ministry.
The Principal is Preserved: When donors contribute to an endowment, their gift is not immediately used. Instead, the gift is invested to grow over time.
Only the Earnings Are Used: Each year, the Board of Directors makes a grant from a portion of the investment income to the beneficiaries of the Foundation. As the Fund continues to grow, so, too, does it’s ability to provide support.
Endowed Gifts are Legacy Gifts: An endowed gift has a lasting impact. Each gift continues to grow and provide resources year after year. Your gift to an endowment will pay off in perpetuity.
The Foundation’s Endowment is invested in accordance with Catholic social teaching guidelines.
Endowments supporting the Diocese include:
With a gift or pledge of $100,000 or more, donors can establish a named endowed fund that perpetually upholds the mission of the Foundation by, “creating a legacy of support for the apostolates and ministries of the Diocese of Colorado Springs.” Each endowment is designated to support a specific facet of Diocesan and Foundation needs, in accordance with the desires of the donor.
Creating a permanent named endowed fund in your name, the name of a loved one, or in honor of a cause that you want to celebrate, establishes a legacy that ensures support for ministries you specify for years to come. All permanent named endowed funds are invested in the Foundation’s investment portfolio and a percentage of the annual income is distributed to exclusively support the intended beneficiary.
To learn more about creating a named endowed fund, please contact the Foundation, or fill out the form here.
A gift to the Annual Fund is a means by which to support the present-day needs of the Foundation and Diocese. A board-designated account, the Annual Fund acts similarly to a checking account. Because of the Annual Fund, the Board of Directors is able to make grants to underwrite the costs of current projects and programs supporting the Catholic Community of Colorado Springs.
