CURRENT DIOCESAN APOSTOLATES AND MINISTRIES

At the Foundation, there are a number of Endowments designated to support particular Diocese apostolates and ministries. These funds have been created by donors who chose to support those apostolates or ministries with a perpetual gift. Below is a list of four major endowments of the Foundation that the Foundation continues to grow,  and that you can support.

Major Endowed Funds

Diocese of Colorado Springs Endowment

The Diocese of Colorado Springs Endowment supports the parishes, schools, and ministries of the Diocese. This is a board-designated fund, meaning that the Board of Directors of the Foundation determine the allocation of funds according to the needs of each apostolate and ministry.

Honoring Our Bishops Endowment-Seminarian Support

The Honoring Our Bishops Endowment for Seminarian Support (HOB) provides aid to seminarian programs within the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Bishop Emeritus Richard C. Hanifen, the late Bishop Michael J. Sheridan, and Bishop James R. Golka, the three Bishops who have each watched over the Diocese since its establishment, shared a desire to support Seminarian education and formation. To honor the Bishops, HOB was created to acknowledge the shared belief of the Bishops that it was of the utmost importance to have a robust seminarian program. HOB funds are used to support seminarian tuition and seminary expenses.

Catholic School Tuition Assistance Endowment

The Catholic School Tuition Assistance Endowment ensures that a quality Catholic education remains accessible to all families, regardless of their financial circumstances. This Endowment provides scholarships to students attending Catholic schools in the Diocese. By contributing to the Tuition Assistance Endowment, donors play a crucial role in bridging the gap for families in need, allowing more children to receive the formation and education that a Catholic school offers.

Bishop Michael J. Sheridan – CAMPUS Endowment

The Bishop Michael J. Sheridan – CAMPUS Endowment honors the late Bishop Sheridan and his desire for the formation of Catholic young adults in college. Bishop Sheridan ran a capital campaign for the building of the John Henry Newman Chapel and Catholic Student Center at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS). Since the Center’s opening in 2021, it has continued to minister to the spiritual needs of the students at UCCS. By giving to the CAMPUS Endowment, donors are supporting the formation students at UCCS, and honoring the legacy of the late Bishop Sheridan.
